“I’m moving in,” the pretty boy, with the perfect sweep of chestnut-colored hair, said and took the end of the sofa as the other two navigated it off the truck.
Pretty boy didn’t say we, he said I. Then promptly ignored Dev again.
Dev’s eyes narrowed as the pretty boy and one of the other two men moved the sofa toward the building.
With a smirk, he plodded a slow gait inside, cutting off the moving team from entering first. His only excuse for his rude behavior—other than rude being his default choice—was he suddenly realized he didn’t appreciate being ignored.
Especially with such a monster hard-on tightening his jeans.
The guys followed behind him, up the staircase. He moved methodically, step by step, reaching for his house key.
He wondered how heavy that sofa really was. But they didn’t complain.
“You’re my neighbor?” the pretty boy called out in a friendly tone. “I’m Cash Ryan.”
Dev looked over his shoulder, continuing to cut them off from crossing the landing to the other apartment on the second floor. This Cash Ryan must be renting the unit directly across from his. Pretty boy held the bulk of the sofa from the rear, still only halfway up the stairs.
For the third time in a matter of minutes, Dev’s head cleared.
It startled and confused him to have so much silence in a place that typically rivaled noise levels in Grand Central Station.
He didn’t care for confusing. Especially not today.
His damn cock sure didn’t seem to mind, though. It had only grown more painful at the sound of the deep, inviting voice.
“I own the buildin’,” he finally said, gathering his wits as he opened his apartment door. He still paused before stepping inside, finally letting them by with the couch.
When Cash passed him, he stuck out a hand. “I’ll be quiet. Barely know I’m here.”
Dev looked the guy up and down before taking his offered hand. The face did hold up to the rest of the physique. A strong, clean-shaven jaw, perfect pouty lips, a straight nose that might have shown hints of a break sometime in his life, big green eyes, and short, chestnut-colored hair. Fuck, he was beautiful in a highlands kind of way.
“Can’t say the same for me,” Dev answered.
Their eyes met and held. The handshake lasted for what seemed like forever.
